About this lounge
The Skala Lounge sits airside at Larnaca International Airport and runs around the clock, with an outdoor terrace that opens onto views of the airport and sky. The self-service buffet leans distinctly Cypriot: chicken koftas, beef kebab politiko, halloumi and spinach pies, vine leaves, tzatziki, and lentils are all on the counter, with rotating hot dishes such as grilled vegetables or mac and cheese filling out the spread. Baklava and pastries close the meal. A staffed bar handles spirits, and an à la carte menu is available for table ordering at an extra charge.
The 2024 interior by C+ Studio Architects draws on Larnaca heritage through arch forms referencing the Kamares Aqueduct, clay-pot pendant lighting, limestone-toned surfaces, speckled terrazzo flooring, and deep blue upholstery. The space divides into distinct zones: dining, sofa seating, high window bar stools, a children's section with tablets, and a computer work area. The terrace, with around 80 seats, is a good place to sit during cooler evening departures. Plates are cleared promptly and the buffet is replenished on a short cycle.
